We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing financial records, assisting with VAT filings, and working closely with clients to ensure their accounts are accurate and up-to-date. You’ll need strong organizational skills, the ability to meet deadlines, and good communication skills to work effectively with clients and team members.
Responsibilities
- Recording daily financial transactions and maintaining accurate records.
- Reconciling accounts and preparing financial reports.
- Preparing quarterly VAT returns and assisting clients with VAT payment obligations.
- Assisting with payroll reconciliation.
- Acting as the first point of contact for clients, answering questions, and clearly explaining financial information.
- Identifying areas for improvement in accounting processes and suggesting better approaches.
- Supporting and guiding junior team members when needed.
- Keeping up-to-date with changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and new tools or technology.
Requirements
- At least 2-3 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a similar role.
- Proficient in using accounting software (e.g., Axle) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax requirements.
- Good communication skills – able to write and speak clearly in English and Greek (Greek is an advancement).
- Organized, dependable, and able to manage time well.
- Open to learning new skills and trying new approaches to improve work.
- A qualification in bookkeeping or accounting (e.g., AAT, ACA, ACCA) is helpful but not required.
