Our client, an ACCA approved employer, is looking to recruit an accountant for the Accounting Department for its offices in Limassol.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of clients
- Daily correspondence with the clients regarding collection of information
- Liaise with clients in relation to accounting issues and tax obligations
- Respond to client requests timely and effectively
- Preparation and processing of accounting entries in the accounting software on behalf of clients in accordance with professional standards and in compliance with the Law and Regulations
- Document and file accounting transactions in an organized manner
- Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations
- Preparation of monthly debtor and creditor reconciliations
- Handling accruals and pre-payments on invoices issued and received
- Preparation of fixed asset register
- Prepare management accounts and cashflow statements
- Preparation and processing of clients’ payroll
- Preparation and processing of VIES and VAT returns and ensure payments are paid on time
- Responsible for direct tax consulting
- Keep up to date with all developments in the field of taxation
- Provide timely and accurate estimates for provisional tax returns, and review all clients on a periodic basis for changes in their tax position
- Preparation of tax returns IR1,IR4,IR7,IR603,IR614,etc.
- Cooperate with the other department in completion of client needs in financial reporting and tax assignments
- Responsible to prepare the audit file for the auditors to perform the audit of the client and be the main contact with the auditors
- Liaise with auditors and client during the audit process, and ensure all information is provided on a timely and accurate basis
- Provide timely and accurate estimates for provisional tax returns, and review all clients on a periodic basis for changes in their tax position
- Reporting to the Partner for the progress of his/ her work
- Performing other job-related duties as assigned
Skills and Experience:
- Working experience as accountant in an accounting firm or corporate service provider
- An academic background relating to Accounting, Finance, Economics
- Very Good knowledge of VAT and Tax Law
- Very Good knowledge and practical application of IAS and IFRS
- Very Good knowledge of MS Office-Word, Excel, Outlook
- Excellent command of Greek and English languages
- Ability to be a team player
- Ability to meet work related deadlines
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Good time management skills.
- Capable of working on own initiative.
